Cuxton Marina offers the following services:
Moorings
Moorings range from half tide moorings, which float when the tide is in for about 1-2 hours; to outside linear berths, which float for approximately 4 hours either side of high water. Electricity and water are available on the pontoons.
Compound storage
We can accommodate both trailered boats or blocked up boats in one of our thee compounds. Electricity and water are available in the main compound.
Hoist Services
We have a 12 ton boat hoist which can cater for boats with a beam of under 14ft and an overall length of up to 40ft.
JCB Telehandler
We have recently replaced our all-terrain forklift with a JCB telehandler. This new machine has made the job of lifting customer’s engines in and out of boats much quicker and easier. We now wonder how we managed without it!
Boating instruction
For customers new to boating we can offer instruction and assistance on boating skills such as boat handling, local routes and tidal information and DIY maintenance. Two members of our team passed the RYA powerboat instructor course.
Our boats
We have several fully insured work boats to allow us to offer a range of services. We have a 31ft work boat, a pair of 18ft GRP dorys powered by Honda outboards and can offer towing, safety boat, emergency recovery work and other ad-hoc projects.
Don Pepe is a 31ft fibreglass workboat with twin Cummins diesel engines. In the past she was fitted out to take fishing parties out of Brighton.
Her low draft and air draft make her an ideal workboat for the Medway area. We have used her for a variety of towing jobs from large barges down to small leisure boats; escort and safety boat work; taking out charter groups and other ad-hoc duties.
We have a pair of 18ft GRP Dorys powered by a 40hp and a 50hp Honda. These strong stable boats are suitable for a wide range of jobs e.g. manoeuvring unpowered craft in restricted areas by using one at the bow and one at the stern, charter work for shallow water surveying where we tow sonar equipment on a specified grid pattern. Assisting the coastguard in searching for missing persons in the water, safety boat work, and numerous other ad-hoc jobs.
